Martha Tilaar Clean Beauty


In 2019 Martha Tilaar Group launched the Clean Beauty campaign for its products. Clean Beauty Products are defined as products that are designed and manufactured without proven or suspected toxic / dangerous ingredients. In addition, Clean Beauty products are also only made using ingredients whose sources can be trusted, and can be traced ethically and are made by considering human health and the environment.

Clean Beauty itself has become a trend in the United States and Europe along with increasing trends back to nature and increasing consumer awareness of social and environmental problems. Reporting from various sources, clean beauty-based products actually do not mean only using natural ingredients or free from synthetic ingredients at all, synthetic materials can still be used as long as they are in accordance with the regulations that have been set for cosmetic products.

Another important factor is the implementation of the clean beauty movement in the process of research and product development in laboratories such as the policy not to test animals in product development activities (no animal testing). Furthermore, an environmentally friendly production process (green process) must also be a concern, for example by ensuring all production waste is handled according to regulations before being discharged into the environment. In addition, the choice of product packaging is another matter that needs to be considered for its impact on the environment.

Martha Tilaar Group has gradually eliminated ingredients such as parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) in its products. Apart from being free from ingredients that are considered to potentially cause skin problems, Martha Tilaar Group products such as Sariayu, Mirabella Cosmetics, Caring by Biokos, and Organic Solutions have included labels that indicate clean beauty products, such as halal labels, no animal testing and dermatologically tested.
